String - Expo marker - Plastic doll - Batman Figure - book - various stuffies - Bra - blank paper for signs - Tortilla shell - candy canes - Tape - wrapping paper - kids underwear - mini marshmallows - bowl - Eggs - Wrapping Paper - hot chocolate - mugs - markers or crayons
24 Days of Ideas + 3 Bonus Days!
Day 1: Elf Flies in from north pole. Hang string between 2 places, higher up. I've done it from my sink pendant to the top of the fridge. Tape the elf's hands to a candy cane and hang on the string. He's 'zooming in' from the north pole!
Day 2: Make a Christmas card - Leave folded paper and crayons - "Write a Christmas card for Santa"
Day 3: Booby trapped - Use a bra on the tree with the elf inside and a sign that says "I've been booby trapped!"
Day 4: Jingle Bells - Write a sign for elf to hold "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells". Write a sign for Batman to hold "I do not smell"
Day 5: Make a sign "Elf tattoo Parlor". Draw tattoos all over a plastic doll
Day 6: (For a Tuesday and taco night) - Wrap in tortilla shell with hole cut for face. Sign "Taco Tuesday"
Day 7: (For a school day) - Elf on counter with lunch boxes. "I made your lunch!" - Have everything wrapped in Christmas paper in the lunch boxes
Day 8: Tape the elf to the top of the TV holding a sign that says "Look ma! I'm on TV"
Day 9: Random Toy Scavenger Hunt: Hide toys and make a list for the elf to hold of items for the kids to find
Day 10: Swing on the Tree - tie string to each end of a candy cane and hang in the tree. Set the elf on the 'swing'
Day 11: Snowball fight with Batman using mini marshmallows
Day 12: Sick Day - Wrap elf in wash cloth, cut tissue into small squares, slightly waded all around the elf. Have kids make get well cards or have a sign that says "Will you read me a book?"
Day 13: Elf Report Card - 1/2 way point - Write a report card for Elf to hold for each child
Day 14: Spa day - Marshmallows in a bowl with the elf. Color and cut circles for cucumbers over eyes, wrap head in washcloth
Day 15: Bad Eggs - Draw mad faces on the eggs in the fridge, then have the elf hold the pen and a sign that says "I think the eggs have gone bad"
Day 16: Undies on the Tree - Hang the kids underwear on the tree and have the elf hold a sign that says "I see London, I see France, I see your underpants"
Day 17: Hide Elf among a pile of stuffed animals with a "can you find me?" stuck to the wall above
Day 18: Mustache Mischief - Cut out and tape a mustache to the elf and then expo marker a mustache at the kids' height on a mirror to 'try-on' their own mustache
Day 20: Elf Grocery List - Have Elf hold the marker with a list of groceries such as 'candy, syrup, chocolate chips, ice cream, etc.'
Day 21: Candy cane hunt - Hide candy canes. Sign with Elf and empty candy cane box on counter - "can you find all 12?"
Day 22: Book day - Elf reads to all the stuffed animals
Day 23: Build a tower - Have a stack of marshmallows next to Elf with a sign that says "How many can you stack before they fall?"
Day 24: Hot Cocoa station - Put marshmallows in each kids hot chocolate cup with the Elf holding an extra cup for him with the hot chocolate packets in his cup.
Bonus 1: If the tree isn't up yet, wrap the elf in Christmas lights, plugged in with a sign "I tried to help with the tree!"
Bonus 2: Elf golf - Color a green circle on paper with a black hole - Set up elf, holding a candy cane, using a marshmallow as a golf ball.
Bonus 3: Peppermint smell and elf in in a jar or tupperware with lid on. Put a sign on top that asks "want to smell my toot?"
